Become a Member
As a national community-based non-profit and registered charitable organization, ElderDog Canada is governed by a Board of Directors, regulated by by-laws, and run by member volunteers.
There are two levels of membership:
Full Member – a Full Member of ElderDog Canada must:
- be at least 18 years old
- successfully complete a volunteer application
- pay the membership fee of $20.00
Full membership carries with it the right to participate in ElderDog members’ meetings and vote on items of ElderDog business.
Associate Member – Persons less than 18 years of age and others who contribute time and resources to ElderDog Canada may be eligible to become Associate Members. Associate Members of ElderDog Canada do not have voting privileges.
Members of ElderDog Canada are ambassadors and spokespersons of the organization. As such, members must uphold a commitment to furthering ElderDog’s objectives and adhering to the principles and values of ElderDog Canada. Persons who have been convicted of any inhumane act towards an animal and/or crime against a person are not eligible to become a member of ElderDog Canada.
Membership Fee
To become a Full Member of ElderDog please complete and return the volunteer application. The membership fee covers costs associated with application assessment and orientation. Successful applicants will receive an ElderDog membership card and orientation materials.
